Public liability - Model boat insurance

Hi We are a group of people who sail on a private lake . The Landowner has asked us if we are prepaired to take out our own insurance when sailing . I would like to know if there are any insurance company's who would insure people sailing there boats as individuals or as a club with about 30 members this would also include public liability  for when we invite any other clubs to join us . I would also like to know about costs as well .

I am pretty sure that there is only one insurance company in the UK offering this service. That is Royal Sun Alliance (may have changed their name). This is the company that insures the MPBA and most model boat clubs. This is arranged via www.walkermidgley.co.uk  the brokers who offer this cover. You could also all join the MPBA as Country Members and you will be covered. Cost is £20 per annum for Adults, less for senior citizens. Have a look at http://www.MPBA.org.uk for more information.

Hi,
Walkermidgley do 3 & 5 million cover, but the MPBA cover is 10 million.
Walkermidgley for 3 million is around £200 if my memory is correct

We have our club insured with stamp the cost this year worked out at £ 63-50p Yours Scout

We at Liverpool MBC also use Stamp they are very reasonable.
