is it possible to solder brass rod with a 15 amp soldering iron would like to make railings thanks

hi shipmate60 not very good at this metric thing but it would be a little bit thicker than the old type metal coat hangers hope this helps

You have two Chances, Gordon - they are referred to respectively as 'Fat' and 'No'.
Have a look at a micro-torch for such jobs. I have used one of these for several years now.

Do you mean a 15 Watt iron?
A 15 Amp iron would be hotter than a 3KW electric Fire!
You need to be looking at a 60 Watt Iron at least
A gas torch (soldering size) would be better
A 15 watt iron would not get the brass hot enough to make decent solder joints

Regiment,
At that size the rod would conduct away more heat than the iron can supply.
At best you would end up using the solder as a glue, not solder.
