Pods - steerable drive pods
« on: February 22, 2010, 08:43:33 pm »

Anyone know of or made drive pods, like used on cruise ships, where they are powered by and electric motor mounted in a number of steerable pods, like Schollels?

 Problems that come to mind..................
water proofing the motor,
getting the power down there, so the pod can be rotated.,
the size of the motor pod may be out of proportion to the size of the prop,
heat from the motor enclosed in the pod.

Just an idea............. ;)
