More 2.4ghz questions...
« on: March 04, 2010, 10:59:03 am »

I have the GiantCod 2.4ghz outfir with two receivers, both of which have been binded (that's doesn't sound right...bound?) to the tx, both work fine individually.

Now...if I install both rx's in the hull, and connect eight servos or black boxes (four to each rx) will all eight thingies work ok? If I push say...the left stick for throttles, will the item which is plugged into the other rx work at the same time?

Left stick on tx...rx1 throttles up. rx2 sound effects come on. That sort of thing. Does that make sense....?

Hi Rich

Yes I would expect them to work in the way you suggest, though I don't know the Giant Cod gear specifically.   A quick check on the bench with a couple of servos will no doubt confirm.

Cheers

I suppose you'll have to consider how to power both of them.

That sounds good Guy, I  didn't want to try them without asking in case something went....pop!

FTF...not a problem, I can use two totally separate 4.8volt battery packs and two separate on/off switches as well.

Ta fellas...

Rich,
Now I am sure you have come up with some devilishly clever scheme which my poor brain is unable to work out but cannot you get the same result with one receiver and Y-leads to your different functions on the same channel?

Doh...I'm confused.

Yes, I guess I could have got the same results with Y leads, but there's a reason for doing it how I did it.

I didn't have any Y leads, but I did have another rx.

Simples!!!

it will work a treat until one of them loses it's bind which normally happens at the lake side when you least expect it  {:-{ I use 22 servos in my scale planes and 1 10 channel receiver I would never consider 2 receivers.

dont know about the Giant Cod system ,
but i recently bought a Planet system with 3 extra recievers ,put them on the bench and bound each in turn to the tx ,
then i hooked them all up to reciever batterys and servos and watched them dance in unisen .
There was no real reason for this except just to see if it would work , it did look funny though.

i must find something more productive to do  %)

Oh, c'mon now...is this likely? I spent the best part of yesterday working out what went where and installing it all, and now you tell me that nasty things could happen?

Yes, I see your point. It is probably cheaper these days to buy a receiver than a couple oy Y-leads!
