Mmmm, no replies for 7 yrs.
In all that time I imagine there has been a big change in technology.
Who if anyone is running twin brushless in a large tug and can you tell me what you fitted?
Cost is not prohibitive but prop size is with twin 66mm Kort props

What are the recommended motors for this setup?

Any one any ideas on a brushless motor for a model tug, I'm thinking of fitting an inrunner in my Mobile Marine models Nangee, now swinging a 58mm prop in a 60mm Kort nozzle. An inrunner is probably easier to fit in the hull than an outrunner.

  Hi Andy. I run a Large tug on brushless motors they drive the large Grapuner Shottles with no problem, & I tow with it a 250 pound
  Tanker. The motors are Turnigy 790KV x2  Fusion Hawk 50A x2 speedos. They also run at low speed.

 Hi T33cno.   I've got a couple of pics of my set up for you & this is in a Portgarth hull, & it works for me. The schottels you need to
 look at are the Graupner  2335  if you go down this road you will need a strong powered servo that fits in the schottel cradle, when
 you have power on it is hard for a standard servo to pull the nozzle back ( been down this road ) the place to look for shottles is
 Baur- Modelle.com  119euro these are a new type. Hope this is of some help, any questions please ask, I'm in Balne Moor m.b.c.
