Hi Bunkerbarge

Many thanks for the Envoy building link,I think it shows in graphic detail why this kit
is not considered suitable for first timers.

The kit is not difficult to build,it just needs a little thought but the main thing I noticed
was how much work there is to do,and I guess a newcomer would get pretty
fed up and run out of patience before completing the model.

As I currently have no model,I think it would be sensible to choose something with as
short a building time as possible,I could always buy an RTR form Howes Models, but I think
my choice of kit as a first build has been influenced by the link.

The Al Khubar by Model Slipway is a nice tug which can be built relatively quickly. This is one of their kits that has been brought up to date with new instructions and CNC cut plastic.
