3. what glue did you use?

I'm for cutting his head off.

This would make a large enough hole to surgically fit some innards and also lead to the choice of a moving head  (servo?)

I agree with your problem of glue, so experiment is the question of the day.

Take out the bottom, and build a flotation RC drive unit that the Duck can cover.

Had one of these ducks some years ago as a operational model with r/c features were water cannon in mouth z drive under its date and tamtek car gear for r/c operation twin 9 volt batterys all built into a round tupperware pot could with the correct wind behind it just to plane on the water had the duck to clear the pond of real ducks not much joy bit of fun the water pump was a blast tassie48.
