Yes, I agree with the others who have pointed out missing categories. Especially when my choice would be.....

1st. Tug
2nd. Lifeboat
3rd. Yacht

The best boat is the one which is always charged, in mint condition, superdetailed, perfect in finish, never makes problems, steers well.... (do I have forgotten something?)  ::)

Best boat for what purpose? There's no point attacking Iceland with a cruiser. Neither can you go on the Norfolk Broads with a warship.

Dear O B M.  I think we have done enough attacking in this country and to start a thread that the next place is to be Iceland is a bit worrying.  ???
If there are any politicians reading this  ;D  we could be in big trouble and when it goes wrong they will all blame you! ;)

Pesonally I vote:_

1 yacht.
2 Tugs.
3 another yacht,  well I have 7 of them, all scale, no class boats.
regards to all Roy

I have to say, though i can appreciate the skill and work that goes into other boats, the boats i like, and would build is strictly limited to

1.warships
2.submarines (military)

with the exception of my new stingray which doesnt really come under either of those, but there's an exception to every rule

(boring, same old, strictly military) Grant :)  ;D

You have a point there Ministeve

I wonder what our members preferences are.

1.  Is the basic construction of more interest. The challenge of assembly, and all that

2.  Do you prefer topping out.  Fitting the pretty bits on the top to look realistic.

3.  Can't wait to get it in the water.  Tear around the lake or maneuver around obstacles.

I'm going for all three.  Which means I'll never finish it.   ;D

Cheers...Ken

roycy, I didn't say we're attacking Iceland next, it was just an example of a country which would be pointless to attack with a (motor) cruiser. I could just as easily have said Antigua or Mali. But I think Mali is landlocked so that would be a tricky one anyway.
If you do want to know where we'll be attacking next, I suggest you contact George W Bush at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (it's a big white building), I'm sure the number will be in the 'phone book.
There's no point trying to contact Tony Blur, he's on holiday (again) in Florida (again).
And he has the nerve to lecture us about CO2 emissions, global warming, climate change, etc.

Basic construction for me. Taking 2D drawings and turning them into a hull and superstructure with the correct lines is what floats my boat, everything that comes after makes me think I'm building a doll's house (especially doing the interiors).
Regarding what types, post 1935 small service craft every time. CMBs, MTBs, MGBs, SGBs, MASBs, MLs, HDMLs, FMBs, HSLs, RTTLs, STs, RSLs, GSPs, FLs, RCLs, GSLs, HSTTLs, whichever of the three services you pick, they all had fine looking small service craft.
Oh, er, sorry, warship I guess, followed by yacht.
