Hi All
Can anyone tell me if these numbers mean 49cc. 049 (0.8cm 3 ?

No - they mean 0.8cc (or 0.049 cu. ins)

Mr FLJ is right but were you wanting to know how many cc's that engine is. if you can find a brand name it may help

Its a Cox 140 Series. I did find this link thats where i got the numbers from.

ah, i can do better than that: 1.4cu in., 22.9cc., 1.25" bore, 1.13" stroke. aluminium cylinder with cast liner. V type reed valve.
