PARADIGM PLAN - PHOTOS
« on: May 02, 2010, 09:10:31 am »

Hi, Steve here

Can any one help on this,  I have been asked I anyone has photos of a similar craft or build plan for
a 5' long boat known as:  PARDIGM ( photo below ).

As you can see it is unfinished and we need to find some detail of deck fitting's to suit model.

Isn't that an old Vic Smeed design? Have a look in the 'my hobby store' plans service, I'm sure I've seen it in there.

Hi, U33

Have had a look, Can't see anything.

May just have to look at similar and fit deck with correct scale fittings using dimension's taken from actual model.

At least it would be uniqe.

Thank's for help

Steve :-))

 Hi modelboatbits.
I would say that the cabin is an own design and not from a plan to match the hull.
Actually it puts me in mind of something I remember from either of the two model mags or perhaps ships monthly.   In some of the English coastal resorts or perhaps malta there are some ex Fairmiles forget the type a d c what ever which were converted to "round the bay" boat trip vessels.

me thinks it could be one of them ????

                          cheers

Me think you are right.

I think my customer is best advised to find photos / images on the net or even visit some boat shows
there he will see ideas how to kit it out, Plus he can talk with people for suggestion's.

It could become quite a nice boat if fitted well.

Thank's Steve :-)

 Hi Steve.
had a little google as I sometimes do and came up with a couple of www..for your man to look at

there are 1/2 forums there he may have to join to see their pix if he wants but I think if he went to kingston mouldings

and asked @ the western lady it may be an option.  There is plenty of info @ them as an easy option among the www. list

                                           cheers Frank..  :-))

This definitely looks to me like (as other posters have said) a homebuilt conversion of a MTB hull, rather than a model built from a plan. (The hull in the photo looks like a commercial fibreglass or plastic moulding to me, but I could be wrong). The hull form looks to me more like a short Vosper-type MTB than a Fairmile.

The links posted by Frank should be a good source of inspiration for completing the boat - a lot of WW2 MTBs and RAF boats were converted to motor yachts, passenger vessels etc. post-war. Some of the ex-RCN Fairmile conversions in the first link (BMPT forum) look very similar in style to yours.
