cant see why not the gen rule is divide 3300 by 250 which is your charger so therefore you should charge them for at least15hr to get a full charge. Stavros

Hi martno1fan,

Is this the first nimh pack you have had, or is it just a larger capacity.
If it is the first nimh pack, make sure that your charger is suitable for nimh's

Hi again,

Could the 12 volt be referring to the supply to the charger rather than what it can charge ?
How many cells were in the plane battery ?

Hi again,

If the battery from the plane has six cells, then it is 7.2 volt the same as your new one.

The other problem is that it will be only one sail a day with that charger.

I'm not really technical with electrics so can't say further than I already have.

If you are going to sail electric power on a regular basis, then I would think it will be best to buy a good fast/trickle charger suitable for nicads and nimh's, rather than mess about with what you already have.

But it's all down to money. If you have any spare, I have an empty draw in my modeling room  ;D

Well if it's just for that must just try it thinghy, I would do it.
As I said I'm not that technical, but I don't see it could do any harm. I think using the formula mentioned by Stavros earlier though it will take quite a time to charge. I just did a quick calk on my fingers, and it gave me a charge time of 55 hours.

But don't trust my maths too much.

Hi
My calculations reckoned you would need to charge about 17 Hrs. However look at this site it may be even more confusing

thanks guys i charged it for 12 hrs and it got nice and warm so ill give her a boost for an hr on sunday before i run her and see how long she lasts.i may charge for longer next time if needed.the company that sell the batterys told me the nicad charger was fine as both types use the same method to charge.its not a peak charger so it cant over charge unless i forget to unplug it so it should do the job for a while ,hanks for your help.
