Need plan for a steam boiler feed pump
« on: March 17, 2010, 05:08:34 pm »

Hello,

I'm looking for a plan to build a steam driven boiler feed pump. Should be something simple and reliable if possible.
Also interested in just the relationship between steam cylinder bore and stroke and pump piston bore and stroke, the rest I can hopefully figure out.

Thanks! That's a nice looking pump, but quite big for my engines, I believe. Perhaps i could scale it down to a more suitable size?

On a boiler feed pump, the steam side should have a larger diameter than the water side if you are using the fed boiler to provide steam to the pump.

I would guess that the choice between mechanical & steam driven boiler feedwater pumps would be dependant on the amount of discretionary steam & cash you have....
