4th Annual Scottish Tug -In...
« on: May 10, 2010, 12:05:47 pm »

...Hi Guys...

Following a very successful and busy 2010 Season Opening Day Event it is now time to turn our attention fully to the Tug-Towing Event next...

Glasgow Richmond M.B.C. are again this years hosts for the event which is being held on Sunday 13th of June 2010 at Richmond Park in Glasgow...(Directly Opposite from Shawfield Greyhound Racing Stadium)...

The Event will run from 10 am till 4pm with Displays and Competitions as well as the usual delicious "Teas & Eats" and of course the very popular Raffle...

Our substantial Model Harbour Layout is proving to be a great attraction for events and once again will be in place for the day...

So Come Along and Join us for the day and take part in the Tug-Towing Tests & Competitions or just sail your tug around the Harbour, Channels and Bays either with one of the several tows available or just Free-Running...

There will also be Pond Space Available for General Model Boat Sailing...

...Best Regards...Norry Mason...

In addition to Norries post,
we also have pond side parking and toilet facilities .
in addition, a meet and greet service can be arranged for our elderly or infirm visitors, so as to help with transporting models etc to the display or launching areas, this was very well received at our last event .
just Pm myself and I`ll make the neccesary arrangements :-))

...Hi Guys...

Following the popularity & success of the "Bring & Buy" table at our Season Opening Day, We will again have this facility available at the Tug-In...

So if you have a Model Boat related item that you no longer need or want Then bring it along and sell it to another modeller who wants or needs that item...

...Best Regards...Norry...

4th Annual Scottish Tug-In

Sunday 13th June 2010

Hosted by Glasgow Richmond Model Boat Club

All arrangements are now in place for this year’s event. The course is set and the trophies are ready. So if you’ve got any form of tug please come along and have a go. Even if you don’t have a tug and would like to have a go we will have a tug available on the day. If you have another type of model boat you are also welcome to come and test your skill navigating round our large dock complex. All we ask is that you keep clear of the course while the event is in progress.

This year we are trying to gather together as many Clyde tugs as possible, so if you have an old dusty Clyde Shipper or a model of one of Steel & Bennies superior vessels (Yes, I am bias) you will be made most welcome.

The Clubs pond is located near central Glasgow (with a Premier Travel Inn nearby) about an hour from Edinburgh and 4 hours from Liverpool or Manchester.

If you would like to come to the event but have any problems with accommodation please contact me via our website at glasgowrichmondmbc.co.uk.

For those of you with wives or partners who would rather shop, the city centre and the famous Glasgow Barras is only 5 minutes away from the park. If they would rather sit, soak up the sun and watch the event chairs, refreshments snacks and toilets will be available at the pond side.

We look forward to seeing new faces and catching up with old friends.

Vice Chairman

Alright guys,

I've heard Rumours that the course is similiar to last years with a few hidden surprises added.Naughty naughty boys.

So we will have some harbour manouvres ,then along the canal, out into the estuary with some tricky bends, then docking again, then off into the open pond (watching out for those nasty cross winds)then the tight channel approach at the lighthouse round into the harbour mouth (watching out for the wreck)and back into the harbour for the final manouvre.

Count me in had a good laugh and a fab day last year.Cant wait to see you all Sunday. Is the bring and buy table there on Sunday?

...Good Evening Guys...

We had a mighty team of men at the pond this Afternoon building up the Harbours , Canals & Channels and roping off the pond in order to keep the swans out...
Just the Sheds, Cranes Trucks etc and the Barges , Ships , Oil Rig and other floating objects to position in the morning....

I am really looking forward to a good day...A Safe Journey to all who are travelling to visit us tomorrow...

...Good Evening Guys...

What A Day...I am "Pure Dead, Cream Crackered"...

Nice to see you got back home safely Stevie...

After turning up at the pond at 8am this morning to find all of yesterdays hard work had been undone by the Mindless Ars%%%les who hang around our park at night...The course was completely destroyed and some of the smaller parts deposited on the Clubhouse roof...

But, As usual our Mighty Men got stuck right in and had it all put right by 10 am...

The event was well attended and everyone taking part and spectating enjoyed the rest of the now Sunny Day...

Results and pictures will be posted later...

A Huge Thanks to the Ellesmere Port and Balne Moor guys for making the trip North...I hope you all enjoyed the day...

Also A Huge Thanks and Well Done to all the Guys who helped out both Today and Yesterday and over the last few weeks of preparation...

...Best Regards...Norry...

Good to see you guys got home safe.

Fantastic time had by all.We all learned loads on and off the water.

A big thank you to all who came to the 4th tug in from all over.

Even the non-tuggers commented on what an interesting day it was.

Roll on the 5th tug in.
