Where does this go to?
« on: May 11, 2010, 07:59:36 pm »

Just acquired a Sea Rover esc, and there's a plug which I don't know where it goes....any ideas?

It will be used with a HiTec 6 channel rx, a 6 volt 4 a/h gel cell for main power, and a separate rx battery pack.

Could it be a BEC?
Looks like a plug for a receiver power slot on the end of it.

The black and white lead is the signal wire (usually Channel 2, throttle), the red and black is the BEC (battery or any free channel if you have more than 2).

Rich,
I'm not familiar with that particular unit, but, in line with what the man in the previous post sez, I'd take a stab at it being a possible +5 BEC supply for your Rx.... maybe?
Try hooking up the main battery and then dap your voltmeter across the pins on the unknown plug to see if you do indeed have five volts there.

BTW: The Sea Rover ESC has half speed reverse... how do I know, my last speed boat went faster backwards!   :embarrassed:

The gumpf does say it has BEC. It also says it is 7.2V only.

I guess the only other thing it could be is for an on/off switch? I guess you could power it up and put a meter across, see if you get 5v or not

Magnificent efforts all round chaps, thanks ever so much for that, and thanks Martin for the pics. Half power astern will be plenty for me, I'm not safe going forwards at speed, let alone backwards!

Thanks again...

A ripmax sea rover esc has a 2 pin bump polarised bec plug from the main battery as well as the three pin plug with no central red.
It works with 5-6 cells powering a bec receiver
