Being a bit of a wooden top can anybody explain how the foreward / reverse works on the Saito V4 .I know its a piston valve engine but just cannot figure out how the arrangement is swapping inlet to exhaust

:-)) Thanks it will give the brain cell something to do.I'm looking to build a small v twin to go into my next proper built Bat. The proposed size is making things tight in the engine bay .Still at the pencil stage and many thanks to the gentleman who kindly sent the Cd's on another Bat build .
regards and best wishes Frazer

Sorry for the delay in replying kno3 She is going to be either 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch scale so approx 40 inches with just over 10 inch beam at 1 1/2 inch to the foot scale. But the hull as you probably know is very slender so I plan to build the basic hull then see how much weight she will carry before starting on the steam plant. The steam plant is going to be of a simple design although the boiler may have to be multi tubed due to the limited space then it will have to be pump fed .At the moment the plans are roughed out but I have made an error as the beam is not working out correctly to scale so its back to the drawing board for now.
