strange behavior
dazz:
hi,my father im law has a model boat,he was testing it today out of the water,he wanted to just run it for a few minuits so he pushed the trim slightly so as it would run un aided,he turned off the trans by mistake but the motors kept running at the same speed as they were set,why is this, what can he do to rectify it,thankyou in advance, daz :-\
roycv:
Hi was this using a Bob's board speed controller?

That is not unusual. The correct procedure is rx on, tx on, rx off, tx off. If you don't follow this, then you can get the rudder moving and also the motors turning. You can't really stop this happening in a case like you describe. You have to stick to the sequence.
Why it happened some of our more technically competent members will probably explain ;D

Barrie,
I think (hope) you meant:
Tx on, Rx on, Rx off, Tx off
That way you are always in control of the boat.
Cheers

Ghost in the shell:
dougal, thats what i thaught, so that when your model goes live, the signal is waiting for it, otherwise your model may fire up without warning
