Hello!!!
« on: July 06, 2010, 05:39:16 pm »

Hello guy's! I have been in the modelling hobby for 2 years now and currently fly radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. I have never thought about getting a boat as i didn't think they was my thing but i was wrong! I am currently in the middle of building a Precedent fairey huntsman 31 and so far it is going good! I'm really enjoying the build. My grandad had it in his shed for 30 yrs! No warped wood! I have got an irvine 40 marine engine for it but am missing the flywheel, has anyone got a spare or can i use something else to start it??? Anyway, i have attached some pictures the current build! Thank you, Jake.

Welcome Jake,

Good old Grandad for keeping that kit! And good on you for wanting to do an ic powered build. You are going to need a flywheel so if no one on here has a spare its an internet trawl.

If you have access to a lathe you could have a go yourself.

I don't want to put you off building your boat, but have you checked that you will be allowed to sail it? Many model boating waters do not allow IC engined boats, and you will certainly need third party insurance if you plan to use any public water. Check the MPBA web site for more information, and details of Model Boat clubs - the best way to get the insurance and assistance with any problems!
