Graham TVR1A owners going to Weymouth Show
« on: July 09, 2010, 01:02:06 pm »

Hi
This is my first post on the Forum.  I've been a member since November.  I have just finished building a TVR1A.  Had the usual problems with the valve gear screws coming loose buy solved it with Loctite.  After running in it ticks over nicely on 5psi.

Is there anyone who will going to Weymouth on Saturday who has got a TVR1A installed in a launch/other vessel?  I would be interested to have a chat with regards to which boiler they used and how the forward/reverse controls and steam throttle controls are linked with servos.

This being my first attempt at using steam, I would prefer an open launch where I can keep an eye on what's happening with water levels etc. etc.  Can anyone suggest a boat which would be suiteble for a horizontal boiler?  I am thinking of a Maccsteam 3.5 inch but realise that a lot of the kits seem to use vertical boilers so I am open to all suggestions.

If anyone is going to Weymouth on Saturday I would like to meet up for a chat anyway.  Cheers.  Roger.
