Speedline do the best lifeboat kits, but this is reflected in the price.

Look at their website at www.speedlinemodels.com

Metcalfe Mouldings probably do three, but there seems some doubt about what he is still producing. Take a look here http://business.virgin.net/metcalf.mouldings/catalogue.htm

If you don't need a full kit, then Models by Design have hulls for several classes, and in different scales. Some, if not all, these are Dave Metcalfe originals.

Model Boats also have a vac formed hull of a a Tyne Class - I thnk that's my next project as its the only Lifeboat small enough for me.

Hi Ryan, 'Models by Design' manufacture a superb 1:12 Arun Class and several other types of lifeboat. High quality mouldings at very reasonable cost. Well worth a look.  :-)

Hulls and plans, but check the Metcalfe site as most (if not all) the Models by Design lifeboat hulls are his, and there may be a kit version from them. (Models by Design bought the Metcalfe Mouldings hull moulding business. Metcalfe now just does a limited number of full kits.)

Hi Ryan

They come as hull and deck moulded together and the wheelhouse as a one piece structure..

Billings do a 1/20th scale 44ft U.S. Coastguard kit which quite a lot of people have converted to the Waveney class Lifeboat.

There are some useful threads on this forum.

This is nice..

The abrupt end to this this thread really is a loss to the website..

I did see a kit for sale in the Galaxy Models tent at Wicksteed, can't seem to find it on their website though.
