Thanks for link to the Footy, Mike..... I bought one of Graham's plane kits before he upped sticks to the USA, I have seen this one before...Postage from the US is now very high  ..Shame as he is a very clever guy ...

I will try just taping the clear plastic sheet first...Hockey shin pad tape thats a new one, I will check that out.

I almost placed an order a plane kit, last week, $49 but the postage UPS was $55 >:-o

Loctited all the the nuts..... I hope loctite 243 is waterproof.

My biggest problem however was trying to find a small open ended metric spanner , no problem buying BA spanners...I had to use a small adjustable spanner in the end

Tried my Warrior this morning...very fast on 3s... almost sunk it a couple of times when it took off going over it's wake.. I got some water inside it, but the gear survived..I changed the sealing tape to diamond tape... but that left a nasty residue when I pealed it off the plastic sheet...

I tried lighter fuel to remove the residue, but it attached the plastic  <:(

It seemed much happier on 2S   :-) So I think I will get some 1800mA 2s batteries for it...One of my new Loong Max 2200mA 2S "Tipple" batteries has died :((...The second one of the "Tipple" series batteries to fail on me... >:-o

My original Loong Max batteries are still going strong :-))

Sounds like a good start :-)) Keep at it  :-) I heard that 3s are to much for them {:-{ 30c 2s are a good balance.

54A sound a little over the top...I would have thought 20C would be enough 1800 x 20 = 36A..... it's only a 30A esc  :}

A 30c burst might be handy  ok2 Some E.S.Cs  are rated @ 30 amp but can cope with a 12sec 50amp burst  ok2  Might be risky {:-{

Dekan,
I take it you're using the included clear plastic sheet to tape down under the lid?
I use normal electrical tape, it comes away easily and is re-usable a few times. I only use the crystal clear tape on the outside of the boats, although I don't much care for it  :-)

I agree, really it is a 2S boat.  It seems sellotape ultra is different from diamond. Ultra leaves no residue. But that hockey tape sounds a good buy.

Congratulations on surviving your first outing with it.  :-))

I got mine to go quickest on a large, 3 acre lake. It was big enough so that on the return runs the wake had dissipated. Even so, I couldn't max it.

Tried 100g of ballast in mine today, to counter the battery. Slight improvement, but she still jumps. Also I need to add a hump to the cockpit as it no longer self-rights.

Maybe some trim tabs are in order?

Thanks guys. Yes I used the insulating tape first and then changed to the diamond tape when I found that a small amount of water inside the boat...

Poddy... I think lighter batteries are the order of the day.. It seemed very solid on 1800mA 2S

Mine is very low in the water with a 2200mA battery

Capsized the boat today... flipped when I clouted a buoy  :embarrassed:...But the hockey tape did the trick...even though it was inverted for over 30mins only a very small amount of water got in.

Three cheers for the BlueWater Chantery club guys  :-))... they managed to get it to the bank for me using some string strung between 2 boats..

You think model aircraft can be hard on the bits, but it's very rare to loose all the electronics... but sink a model boat and probably not much of the electrics will work at all afterwards  <:(
