B. C. is a big place, but I know of two formal clubs.  Burnaby Association of Marine Models, which meets and sails on Burnaby Central Park Pond on Sunday and Wednesday mornings.  We sail all kinds of R/C models.  Send a PM to Canute on this forum for more contacts.

Victoria Model Shipbuilding Society, website http://vmss.ca/  I know less about them, but I think they do all kinds of boats, too.

And there is an informal group, the Como Lake Model Yacht Group in Coquitlam.  Website http://www.generationsdesigns.ca/CLYG/index.htm.  This is a smaller group which again sails many kinds of boats, on Sunday mornings.

As to someone who might build a custom tug for you, PM KeithS on this forum.

BIG OOPS!!   %)  I thought I was on RCGroups.com when I said to PM Canute and KeithS.  I don't see where ModelBoatMayhem has this feature.  So try over there, please.

Yes, but Keith and Canute don't stop in here as often as they do RCg.

...just to add to the above comments, check out David Wiggins column in the latest issue of Model Boats, Collectors' Corner, he does a piece on the Burnaby club. My brother use to belong to the Victoria club, but has since retired to Southern Ontario. I believe there is a club also on the island in Nanaimo, about an hour's drive north of Victoria.

By the way, if David reads this forum, he was questioning the whereabouts of the HMCS Haida, well the answer is Hamilton Harbour. If your driving over the Burlington Skyway toward Niagara Falls, its down on your right. Still set up as touring facility I believe.
