Sailing in the Swindon area (again)
« on: July 25, 2010, 10:14:35 am »

SURELY there has to be somewhere/anywhere in the great Metrollopse known as Swindon, where a fella can sail his rapidly growing fleet of newly built vessels (one at a time though)

Just returned from a recce at, what could be, a nice little site near the ASDA superstore in West Swindon, and found the water to have lowered to what I would imagine is one third of it's intended depth, complete with weed of Amazonian proportions !

This venue would also make an ideal naviga course too, as it has it's own on site obstacles   ie...

I x child's pushchair
8x Plastic drink bottles ( oh where did the deposit scheme go ?)
10 (at least) Empty food containers
3 (at least) Party balloons of various colours ( well I think that's what they were)  :embarrassed:
The list is endless...so if anyone knows of a venue within sensible driving distance, I'd be more than happy to hear from you, preferrably those without the resident "jobsworths"  :police:
