strenghening a grp hull
« on: August 24, 2010, 07:06:31 pm »

Apologies if this question has been asked before but can I just add more fibreglass over weakspots in a already finished hull or will the resin react with the original fiberglass?
thanks in advance.

Yes, it will be O.K.   The original hull will have cured. I often 'beef up' sections myself but don't make it too thick in one go or else it will heat up when curing.   8)

Hello, It is very easy to thicken a GRP hull, it is hellish to get it thinned down if you go over the top.
