Hi Folks, I have just purchased some Fastglas resin and hardener from Halfords, can I use this as a finishing coat on top of Humbrol paint ? The intention was to do inside and out (belt and braces) lol, any comments will be gratefully recieved, Ta.

I use Humbrol paints for all of my models, but I use Humbrol matt clear varnish as a protective coat. Pete M

I wouldn't. The chances of you getting a good, run free finish over Humbrol (or any) enamel paint are low. Why risk it? I use matt varnish from
http://www.flairmodels.co.uk/Finishing/Paintframes.htm
which gives a hard-wearing, non-yellowing finish which is authentic at scale sizes. Keep resins
inside
the hull.
Cheers,

If yer build another boat and want a resin finish BEFORE adding a colour coat look at "Tuff-Coat" -- coloured epoxy finishing system used on toy aeroplanes.

Hello, You can use Flowcoat for finishing off a laminate, just like gloss paint. Dont forget you are adding weight all the time. Nemesis
