After only a quick look at their site,it seems they have managed to make it rather difficult to establish sizes. Couldn't they have done better or am I missing something??

To me it does seem that if you don't know what the numbers mean you will get lost very quickly.

Well I just emailed them to have them explain it to me and to see if they would put a note up so that we can all know then.

I don't know what the problem is, it's self explanatory

Reference numbers for this range give the diameter in inches followed by the pitch. Eg. 2022/3 is 2" dia. X 2.2" pitch and 3 bladed.

well i think the same  as antipodean    it not 'crystall clear' on the part numbers with the size(dia)  x pitch of the prop

 unlike the catalogue  layout  :-))

k2625/4     65mm dia  x 63mmpitch              this is one to use with 70mm nozzels
ideally with a high torque motor in 1000 -3500 rpm range

This seems to explain it OK

"Kort Nozzle Propellers

The upsurge of interest in tug modelling has resulted in a big demand for a range of Kort props, with nozzles to suit. To keep things simple (the possible combination of blade styles and nozzle shapes is almost unlimited) we standardise on a four blade Kaplan style propeller for most sizes. Five blades is also an option on the larger props. We have got together with Brian at Mobile Marine, to ensure that our props will also suit his range of nozzles. Our nozzles are steerable, made of cast aluminium with steel pins and brass tubes. They are the correct venturi shape for increased thrust (20% more than a prop of the same diameter without a nozzle).

The reference numbers for this range give the diameter in inches followed by the pitch. Eg, K1920 is 1.9" dia. X 2.0" pitch.

The typical thread types for these props are M2 (for very small props), M3, M4 and M5. You can specify another thread type if you know exactly what you need."

Guys
Have you looked at the couplings?
What is a 13mm coupling, Length, diameter, plain bore threaded??
I know I am thick but I can't see how you know what you are ordering.

I've got to agree, I find it confusing -

WW2 prop - ? WW2/0871/3/RH/BR ?

OK I can guess that its WW" 3 bladed right hand brass prop but 0.8" dia x 7.1" pitch  {:-{

I cant even find if its right hand from in front or behind.

The idea of a web site is to promote your product not loose customers to a more user friendly site !!!!

The WW2 props are 'specials'  but the majority of the site is worth a bit of time exploring and the prop type categories  are in  either  'inches' or  'mm' - fairly easy to spot once you realize that  sizing systems are used. It's probable that an exact scale match for the original 1:1 prop is avilable for most vessels from this expert supplier. It's well worth a bit of time to understand the various categories and their intended applications. They are not soldered - rather machined/profiled and will have less drag and better balance. These superior props cost extra but their greater efficiency is well worth it.  :-)

I got an email back from prop shop today and the first two number in the set are the dia. of the prop in Milimeteres so if the first two numbers are 20 then that is a 20 mm prop not 2 inches as mentioned above. The second two numbers is the pitch so if it is 22 then for one rotation of the prop it will 22mm forward. This is the best that I can expalin it for many to understand.

it still dont make any sense  %)      the numbers dont add up   on the web site its

KNP/2425/4/LH/BR    (so we are thinking that  its  24mm dia x 25 mm pitch)   but look in the cataloge &  2425  is 60mm dia x63mm   (kort nozzel props)

the other thing is  on the web theres KNP/5151/4/LH/BR   again we think its 51mm dia  x 51mm pitch    in the cataloge under 5151 they are 130mm x 130mm  the biggest nozzel prop!
(the price gives it away  you would not pay nearly£60 for a 51mm prop!!)

to get out of this confusion  if you have a cataloge   use the 2425    5151  as a part number   try it out!!  regards ray

ill prob stick to good a  old   'telephone call'

On this site, think in Inches, not mm.
  So KNP/5151/4/LH/BR
is 5.1 inch diameter four blade prop.

I think they use both mm and inches. If you click on the "more info" to the right of the heading in each section it gives...more info - including how the size/part number is worked out.

Why carn't it be simple sizes and then the code next to it so you understand what the heck you are looking at. {:-{

Browsing the web site today, I noticed at the bottom of the page was a PDF download.

This now gives threab/boss/diameter/pitch in a much easier to read format.

I agree they have lost me as they didn't apply the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle.
Whilst PDF list at the end is handy not so when you have to meander around to get back to where you were and listing an item (eg small fastners) and then saying ask for details if we have it defeats the purpose.
Customers won't be bothered.
Really its a shame.  <:( <:(

Have to agree, however good the products may be, the website certainly isn't the best in user friendliness. Could one hell of a lot easier to navigate around. Having gone to the trouble of putting all those figures in for each prop, they could just as easily put it in plain english. Sure it would save them lots of time answering telephone/email enquiries. Good job the products have a good reputation to carry it. Some of us are quite beginners at this and need things in simples speak!!
