hi, total newbie to the model boat scene and honestly not got a clue!!    having inherited a scale model tug i find the need to renovate/ finish the boat.   my first task been the deck and wheelhouse etc,   the woodwork has been done with a varnish/ stain and is very uneven !  my query is... can it be rectified by chemical strippers or would i have to sand?     any and all advice would be appreciated.     will be asking more but wife thinks shopping is priority over "the bloody toy boat thing"....  we'll see...........

            Welcome to the house of fun    paint stripper for wood or metal is nitromors (green tin) which is a gel so does not run off
               vertical surfaces.  
                

                      for plastics and GRP   use fairy power spray.  (even the swmbo can`t complain about that purchase ) till she finds out
                      what its for    
                      
                        
                  


                   you can sand the wood a day after you have stripped all the gunk off it.

            By the way nitromors (due to the fumes and smell) is an outdoor use product if you try and use it indoors the Boss will have
            your chestnuts roasted on an open fire.  Have fun (both of you) with your battle of the wills.

cheers for the info..  was quite happy with doing the nitromose in an enclosed space.. no detrimental effects..  or non i noticed !  glazed eyes and a cheesy grin !!   will post a few pics in near future (no camera) but believe boat is not plan built !     as for wife, i ask only one thing of her...do as told, when told, and quietly.    yeah right.....   as for divorce, also wont happen..  love, honor and OBEY  which i do!!  like most men do till missus out of earshot!

          some of the later mobile phones have a picture facility in them if you have one can be done that way.
