My Girlfriend is narcoleptic, and we are both sure the dog is cataplectic  rather than narcoleptic, although both problems often live side by side.
This also effects people, at the Narcoleptic conference earlier this year I met a young lady who is un able to tell a lie, because if she does the stress induced causes her to colapse.
