Most dolls house stuff is 1/12 th scale so there are some possibilities there.

I bought a resin 1/12th figure from Ebay which was supposed to be a "Modern" father.  He had a short sleve shirt on and a pair of slacks.  I painted the slacks navy, downloaded a Customs badge to be resized, printed and stuck on his shouler and made a navy cap with a customs badge out of wood and paper.  He now stands in the wheelhouse of my customs cutter "Badger" and looks the part.

Take a trip to your local 'everything a pound shop' and buy several plastic 6" high figures of firemen. I make all my 1/12th crew this way for my lifeboats. 8)

They also come with several accessories e.g. binoculars, hand held radios, fire extinguishers etc !!   ;)

All these were made as variations on the same figure.

Nice job Gribeauval.

I used 1/12th Tamiya pit crew figures for my Tyne Class lifeboat some years ago but dont think they are available now.

It certainly is a good job you've done there Gribeaval.  1/12 size makes it worth it.

I am on a 1/48  size model and am looking for 'little people'.   My wife brought home a bag of soldiers from the 'Pound shop', but they are all busy with guns and aggressive looks  :D

I thought about cutting them about and painting them, but the final size doesn't look to be worth the effort !!  I'll see when I get to that stage what it looks like and maybe put some pictures up.

Thanks for the idea

These do seem to be the best. I plan to use them for topside figures.

To keep down 'Staff costs' I thought to put in some cheap workers around the bilges. Just like real life really. ;D

Tug Kenny

You could also use 1:50 scale as there is very little difference in size.
A 6 foot man in 1:48 will measure 1 25/50" and in 1:50 will measure 1 22/50"
You could try Ontracks for these as they have loads

I could try all day and mine would also look like clay on a wire frame. Either that or some horrible figure out of a scary movie.

I tried my hand at making the figures myself when I found it difficult to locate 1:10th figures for my Louise Heloise.
They are infact based on my father and father in law.I searched the Net for anotomical proportions and the polymer web sites for techniques.

MCR these pics look familiar.

Where else are they posted?
I have seen brew up somewhere and I was inspired by some of your other modelling details.

I also want to make some scale figures (1/15) for the MJ WARD  and I plan to try a cutter or Louise Heloise next, scratch build this time.

Please post some links for the polymer sites if you have them.

I did have some photos in the scale sail section however they have been removed due to their size. I will post the polymer sites later it might be Tuesday.
