As it looks as though they are operating micro-switches, I would guess they are servos.

I believe it's an early radio receiver with it's own matching servos.  Sounds like it needs upgrading to a modern R/X if it doesn't work.

Hi Phil

They would seem to be linear servos, google 'Ripmax Digimac'

The black tab slides back and forth actuating the micro switches, It may be lo tech if that's the right word but quite a compact unit all the same.

Steam powered Radio gear. Servos were available for rotary or linear operation, those are linear.

"RipMax Futaba" were classed as good gear.

Futaba (ripmax) digimax...  was what everyone lusted after in the early 70's... :-))

linear and "standard" servos.... wow!

i could only dream of owning one as an apprentice in the early 70's  it was about 6 weeks wages for a 2 channel set

27mhz (am)  huge tin box transmitter with next ta nowt in it...?

i still have a set in good working order on the workshop shelf...  and thats where mine will remain!

the plugs on the servos are different to modern futaba kit  but the pin-out/colour code is still the same i think so the servo's could be adapted to suit modern radio....   even 2.4ghz

I can attest to those old Ripmax  Futaba radios.   My 'Brick' Tx and Rx. are still going strong in my Cervia tug after 35+ years and several 'dunkings'
