Jules Verne style vehicle
« on: November 20, 2010, 11:16:03 pm »

I'm building a amphibious Jules Verne style vehicle that will use a screw-drive system.
Here are some vehicles with the helical screw-drive system.
Thanks,
Giovanni

Hi,
Looking foreward to your Verne inspired project, I know that 'itch'well!
I believe a vehicle similar to the vessel shown was used during the Vietnam war as an amphibious vehicle. I remember seeing one in a model of a modified LCM6 built by Tom Andrews in the 1980s and featured in Model Boats Magazine, possibly March 1982. ( my first copy of the magazine, I remember it well! ). The only problem I can see was its low speed on land and water. It would, however look excellent.
