Huco straight center section?
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:40:54 am »

I've done a search on the net but can't find anyone who sells these? I have a couple of shafts that I need to glue in perfectly in line with the motor, anyone know?

Hi Barrie,
No it's the red centre section I'm looking for, it's simply to align the drive train up whilst glueing the shaft in. I'm not sure if they even make them, but I have read references on here that say to to use a solid section that the 2 brass ends go in to?
Cheers

If you're just trying to line up a couple of shaft ends can't you use a bit of suitable tubing? After all, it's the drive shaft bit you're lining up, so when the outer covering (the bit with the bearings) is set, just withdraw the drive shaft from the tube and all should be nicely aligned. Just a thought. BY.

I just use a bit of brass tubing - there's a size in the KS metal centres that's a good fit.

I agree I use some K&N brass tube cut to the same length as a coupling.
I also cut a small radial angled slot the length of the coupling end to make it easier to fit and remove.
