for illuminated port holes why not do the following:

drill required hole
cut a piece of plastic coloured sheet larger than you hole
attach sheet to inside of hull thus sealing the hole and giving you a illuminated port hole

Someone mentioned Cornwall. See http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ecornwallmodelboats%2eco%2euk%2f&WD=portholes&PN=rb_portholes%2ehtml%23a63104806#a63104806 for beautiful flanged portholes, anywhere from 6-20mm diameter, and I think cheap. I'm using them on my current build.
