Info required on Red and Yellow Trim on Trent
« on: April 21, 2011, 01:36:03 pm »

Anybody know what width the red and yellow trim strips are on a Full Size Trent?

I am re-trimming a Model Slipways Rescue Boat  / Trent  at 1/28th scale

I have some trimlines from Barrys Model Lettering and the nearest sizes
seem to be 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm.

Multiplying by 28 gives 'full sizes' of 44mm, 56mm, and 70mm for the
individual bands

regards

I did do a quick search but didn't latch onto anything - if anybody
can prompt for a topic I would appreciate it.

I shall however go and have another look...

On the official 1/20th scale drawings of the Severn from the RNLI they are shown as being 4 mm wide. this translates as 80 mm wide on the full size boat and thus 2.8 mm at 1/28th scale. Use the 2.5 mm stripes you have they will be close enough !!
