rc Helicopter nearly sinks my rc boat!!
« on: January 23, 2011, 06:22:50 pm »

due to the inclement weather and a very frozen boating lake i decided to re-visit an old friend/enemy??  flying model helicopters

so for the last month (every day) i have be flying an indoor full four channel electric helicopter!  its brilliant and just as difficult as i remember from a few years ago :-))

i fly "mode 2" so its throtle and rudder on the left stick,and  for/aft and left right (roll) cyclic.  so you steer the heli with the rudder on the left stick and bank it with the aileron (roll) on the right stick :-))

anyway

today for the first time in over a month i went sailing as the lake has defrosted.....   have you worked it out yet?

yep! boat hurtling towards the quay side!

gave it a big lefthand stickfull of helicopter rudder O0

boat hit the quay side square on and tried to swallow the lake :o :o :o

think i had better swap all my boat rudder servos over to the left stick now

DOH!

nice one :}

funnily enough, I was on a field at 8.30am doing exactly the same, My new year resolution is to master a nice fig of eight, I got my highest flight, and some pirouettes, and a real messy fig of 8, but still get the feeling that it could all end up in  a bin bag of bits!, dont know who is in control, the heli or me :embarrassed:
