I also do RC helicopter 3D flying

Jim,
I am sure a lot of sailors are involved in other RC hobbies. I have a few fixed wing aircraft and recently got started with a few small helicopters. I can see these could become very expensive - my beginner birds are very "cheap" 3.5 channels versions. I must say they are nicely made and fly beyond my expectations. Syma 107G Selling for about $20 USD.
Stepping up to the higher levels and larger sizes moves the investment level up pretty fast O0 Still these are very easy to fly inside, are not suited for outdoors. I am sure at some point I will move to a 4 channels and larger helicopter, but until I finish the boats I am working on, I think it'd be a distraction.

Here's a few pictures of my very modest beginning into Helli's - inexpensive but are still fun and my dog likes them too!She will follow them around the house just waiting to pounce on one when it lands! :}
