Model Boat Magazine November 2006

Can anyone help me please?

I have building the monitor M15 as my project for this year and have been able to obtain three of the four MB mags that contain the build by Paul Freshney. Does anyone have the Nov. 2006 mag (Issue 672) they can let me have (for a reasonable price!) or know where I can get hold of one. I have already tried the Payhost.net site and fleebay with no success.

No. Not thought of that one! How would I do it? Via Model Boat Magazine's publisher or does anyone have his contact details? Maybe Paul is a member of this site?  :-)

Yes. Once I have done my research I'm going to get the Models By Design semi-kit and build it as the M18 (Bolinda Engine). I could scratch build but TBH I don't have the time (or perhaps the skill, if I'm honest!).

I like 1:48 scale, after trying everything from 1:24 to 1:96, I have a good stock of fittings, figures etc in this scale and I feel this is a good compromise scale between detail on the one hand and big vessel 'presence' on a managable hull length.

I now select a new model to build by scale first, then decideding how big a boat I can fit in my current car! Not very scientific I grant you but with a common fleet scale you can put several boats on the water together and they look right.
