PETROL PRICES

They said today that petrol will cost £1.50 a litre by the end of next week. mainly because of the Libya crisis, Libya's oil exports represent no more than 4% of worlds output, what excuse will they come with next!

What I heard was that it is only 4% of the world output but 95% of it comes to the EU and it is a fairly light crude oil
better suited for making petroleum products than the heavier Saudia Arabian crude

Correct Timo and what about that superfine light crude that comes out of the North Sea that is EXPORTED to the Middle East for blending ?  Why are the Highlands and Islands paying the highest it the country (UK) when the the oil companies quote "transport costs" as the reason for high prices. The refineries are NOT in the south of England....they are damn well on the doorstep of where the oil comes ashore ! O0 {:-{ >:-o <:( :o :o :o

Transport Costs?
Who is responsible for transport costs if it's not the oil companies?
I come from Milford Haven originally and when the Terminals and refineries
were asking for planning permission a caveat was that the local area would
have low fuel prices.
Never noticed it!

The thing about "transport" costs is that it puts up the price of everything in more remote areas, so we pay more for everything
and consequently pay more tax
