How to make a cone out of sheet metal?.

Hello, I wish to make a cone out of sheet metal. A standard cone shape has the tip sitting over the centre of the base diameter, I want to have the tip sitting over the edge of the base diameter. Looking from the side elevation it would look like a right angled triangle. I have seen this done by an old blacksmith at the colliery where I served my apprenticeship, unfortunately that was 55 years ago and I cannot remember how it was done.
The base diameter is 3 inches and the height to the tip is 4.25 inches. I have been on the net and there are many sites that make standard cones but non that would construct a cone of this shape. If anyone can jog my memory as to how this is done I would be eternally grateful.

Hello,

 Why not make the Cone out of Paper first ?.
Much easier to make and handle - - - and cheaper!!.
Just a thought.

Hello,
All you good people that replied to my post, may I thank you for your help. I have constucted the cones and just need to solder them onto the pontoons.
When I learn how to put photo's onto the site, I hope to show the finished vessel.
