I was saddened to see a few things on our beloved Forum today.
First of all some unhelpfully negative, inaccurate, fantastical, rude, prejudiced and downight nasty comments and spurious allegations, posted weeks ago amongst the thread about the sufferings of our neighbours in Japan, aimed at the Church which for the past 13 years I have had the privelege of being a member of and serving in, namely the Church of Lord Christ of Latter Day Saints (often called the Mormon Church). We can all, and I will always, forgive a medium-large dose of ignorance regarding the faiths of other people, but the ridiculous and vile allegations made have no place in the decent company of our Forum.
My experience of serving in the Church in positions of leadership and trust is that despite all our faults as individuals and as a people, we are still trying to follow our Saviour Lord Christ, "who went about doing good"; the Church has without exception been a great blessing to me and my family's life. Lies and half-truths about our Church are almost without exception spread by the ignorant or those who have been excommunicated for serious sins which we as a family church will not tolerate, e.g. theft, adultery, crime etc. (throwing of the dummy on a massive scale). Mayhemers are invited to find the facts at
www.lds.org(Sorry if I have n't done the link OK, its the premature senility at age 38!). When I came across those posts I initially felt like resigning from the Forum in disgust, as I know others with hurt, angry feelings have to their loss, but it's not the way, and we all need to learn to stop taking offense...as well as giving it! 'Nuff said (demounting from high horse).
Which brings us to our (newly identified!) old friend PETERMUN. Can I for one say welcome back old chap(ess?), good to hear you 've rejoined the bestest Forum in the known Universe, please forgive us our faults or our less than enthusiastic responses to one another at times, hows about a few pics of you and your builds, we want photos, we need photos, photos we like, even a few words then photos...or news of the things you plan to build and take photos of...
