In early February I ordered a Pro Boat Volere and a couple of other bits from a certain retailer. Unfortunately the Volere arrived damaged so I advised the shop. They advised they would source a replacement but to hang on to the damaged one as the courier company would do a swop when the replacement was delivered. No invoice came with the model, just a credit card slip for the full amount paid. A couple of weeks went by with me always phoning the shop to see what was going on. Eventually they said they couldn't source another so would sort out a refund. In a fit of madness I said I would have the considerably more expensive Graupner Ti Amo and pay the difference. This boat needed a transmitter, receiver, ESC and batteries so the calculation of the total cost less the amount already paid became more complicated. Rather than trust the model to the courier company I drove there instead, swopped the models and paid the difference. Again no invoice, just a credit card slip, the invoice would follow. I did also point out an error on their website where the prices for the Ti Amo differed by £90 due, I believe, to transposed figures. Other shops show the price to be the lesser of the two on this shops website.
So here we are at the end of April and still no invoice despite numerous phone calls and emails. My "back of an envelope" calculation indicates I was overcharged but I'm just not getting anywhere with these guys. They're always apologetic and say they're very busy and will sort it out but that's as far as it goes. I'm quite happy to accept what I've paid if they can prove by supplying a breakdown of the cost but I'm just constantly getting the brush off.
Unfortunately time is not my own at the moment due to two bereavements but I guess the only solution when time permits is to drive the 90 miles to the shop and stand there until it's sorted.
Excuse the rant but this lack of customer service is just appalling.
