Third party liability insurance required. Please bring proof as you may be asked. The event is open to all “service” craft. (RAF, Navy Army, Fisheries Protection etc) including submarines. Models
must be either be electrically or steam driven. The only other restriction is that models should be depicted in their “service” role e.g. Armed trawlers must have proper armaments. Each competitor will be asked to complete a simulated naval exercise on the water. This will not be a tight steering course. There will be no static judging. It is hoped that enough time will be available for 2 rounds.
Before the formation sailing, there will an opportunity to have a go at convoy sailing. Trophies will be awarded for best Exercise and Best Model as judged by one of our members.
As this is a new scoring system, then all previous winning models may enter, no model documentation is required. On completion of the competition, there will be a chance to try your hand at formation sailing with teams of 3.
Trophies will be awarded for the best formation team. Pre-booking although not essential would be greatly appreciated. Please pay on the day of the event.
You will be met at the entrance gate and given safety instructions which must be complied with before proceeding into the park. Our stewards may ask you for a donation to a local hospice at this time. It is advisable to bring your own display table and launching straps. Spectators are most welcome but will have to park on the site car park. The visitor centre will be open for tea, coffee & light snacks.
