Larry

Have you tried Chris at HSL?

http://www.hslmouldings.co.uk/

He has all the fittings if you need them but he is a walking library on helpful things on Coastal stuff.  I would be my last brass farthing he will have a ciopy of this for you to acquire.

HI ,thank you for replies .,  struggling with wheelhouse build slight errors with drawing spent a good 6 hrs on templates in card
pattens ,would be nice if a front elevation detail could  have bin added to drawing , and the wheelhouse out would be a bit more ' detailed , i suppose regulars builders find the drawing easy , so don't have a pop at the beginners ,who muddle through
any way back to build i have got this far see pictures,.....
hope to get a bit feed back from some of more clever builders i am not frightend of criticism,
as long its usfull, wich so far on mayum as been first class,

on my drawing there is a slight error where bridge conects to wheelhouse , so will do a little bodging to get round it,

Doesnt look bad at all.  Paint and filler hides a multitude of sins so I wouldnt worry.

How are your for fittings?  Have you tried Chris at HSL?  I have a couple of Coastal fittings surplus to requirements if they are of use?

I have a spare carley float and a few vents that were left over from an MTB build and although I have another MTB build to do I dont need all the vents I have.  I will have a check later and send you a pm.

Chris is certainly very helpful and friendly.

Larry,
These vessels changed so much during their working life that almost any configuration could be correct.
In the med several had the captured German weapons fitted and mostly being harbour based and not a high priority they tended to get what was left after warship (Destroyers etc) refits/upgrades.

hi ya Larry

Check your emails cos I have just sent you (hopefully) the original article from 1984 on the build for the HDML - if you dont receive it, let me know :-)

By the photographs you have put on, you havent done a bad job of the build so far - rather good I would say!

I wouldnt worry too much about fixtures and fittings (purchasing) as they are pretty straight forward to make from strips of balsa wood and Plasticard, well within your capabilities I am sure.

Larry,
The original HDML's had a top speed of 7 knots.
But I have to admit in mine she is overpowered and does look good (in my opinion) running nuch faster than this.
