I always thought that he was the most insincere person one could ever have the misfortune to view, until I became involved in a court case.
I had had a new carpet laid by the company that dealt with furniture and floor coverings that he advertised ( and dressed up as a judge to do so), and they not only laid it badly but on the second visit to re lay it, left staples stanley knife blades and gripper rod in strange places knowing that we had a twelve month old daughter who was at the time inquisitive and crawling. they also left brown paper stuffed behind the tv which was a fire hazzard.
The stanley blades etc were all in odd places and numerous, and I can only presume that the work men had had a rollocking and didn't like to return so did it on purpose.
I found my daughter with a shiny blade and a staple in her mouth even though we had thought we'd cleared em all.
I took the company to court over the problem and notified Mr Forsyth by letter through his agent of the type of company he was advertising.
He sent me back a personally hand written letter wishing me good luck in court and that he didn't want his name associating with a company that could leave such dangers for a toddler to come against and cancelled his advertising contract with the company forthwith.
I changed my mind and opinion of him from that day on.
And yes if just for the charity work he does, he deserves a knighthood..........moreso that numpties like football managers and such!!
