That's a bit powerful for this model but will work .... but it is meant to be a sports fishing boat, not an off-shore power boat or drugs runner!

Actually I would probably start off with a 'bog standard 540' sized motor on 7.2 volt with a 20mm 2 blade plastic prop.
If you find it's under powered for you tastes, then you can always upgrade to a 'hotter' motor at a later stage.

It will be OK.... just remember, you don't have to use the boat at full throttle ALL the time!
Look at the type of boat it is and remember what sort of job / speed it was designed to run at,
ie. Tugboats planing across the water do not look very pretty!

My son's White Star. Just dug out of storage. Not been sailed for a VERY long time, hence the dust.
380 size motor, 1 to 1 belt drive, 6 volt 1.2 amp hr SLA battery, 30mm 3 blade brass prop. Bobs board
speed controller, Acoms radio. Sailed well at a scale- ish speed for the type of boat. Crew, remains
of a plastic kit, from the junk box of the local model shop.
Everything kept below deck level except for receiver aerial, coiled around post, which has never caused
any problems although usually frowned on.

Very Neat!
I particularly like the belt drive, very clever set up!
