my first boat (graupner anja)
« on: July 20, 2011, 05:51:19 pm »

ive always been into R/C modeling have had a few fast cars and had countless planes but this is my first boat,

i bought the kit on ebay sometime last year-with no instructions and a few bits missing so ive just made it up as i go along and not bothered with the rigging it is however the Graupner Anja SL 35
radio gear is futaba with a ripmax micro servo for the rudder ( i used a brass rudder that i cut down to size) its got a mtronics speed controller and the graupner 140 motor unit, the only battery ive got is a 2400 out an old tamiya car that somewhat weighs the boat down but gives good power and long runs

not sure if there still produced,it should have a few more deck items and rigging butlike i say i bought an incomplete kit and wasnt to fussed about how true to scale the finished boat was

radio was stolen from a schumacher XTR .... once the fastest RC car (must put that back together and fix the pull cord)

It's quite a pretty little thing isn't it? A bit of deck clutter and some more detailing and it would look brilliant.

I'm not that experienced a builder, I've built about 4 boats from kits, but I have started making my own ropes, fenders, searchlights and bits and bobs to add a bit more realism. It's surprising the difference a few coils of rope can make.

A curled-up sleeping dog/cat (from a set of farmyard animals etc) just behind the mast would suit the mood of the boat I think.

Anyway, it's very nice - keep it up!  :-))

Here you are some deck clutter to give a more realistic feeling.

Thanks,
most of this stuff was from modelling timbers, advertised in traders section, the dog, broom was from ebay, and the rest i made, like crates.rope.
Look under doll house equipment on internet the scale you require,
by the way look at macsmouldings,a great selection of stuff there.
