Mercury Hydroplane
« on: August 04, 2011, 05:02:27 pm »

Hi anybody got a copy of the plans that went with this kit.  I always fancied one as a kid, but Model aircraft took up most of my pocket money  http://www.modelboats.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=24476

Most airboats tend to be American designs..I have a Skimmer plan.... but this looks a bit more exciting with its step hull..  http://www.onthewire.co.uk/airscrew.htm

If you want a set of plans for a simple, fast and fun airboat that works, look here:

Dekan,

In case that one doesn't work, try looking at the MPBA Website. Go to Sections/Tethered Hydroplanes ( http://www.mpba.org.uk/Section_pages/tethered_hydroplane.html) and there is a link there to the Model Hyro Club of GB. There is a leaflet with a couple of names who could probably put you in touch with Mike Drinkwater.

Thanks Barriew.. I will give it a couple of days... I was hoping that somebody might have a copy in their plans draw/pile

I don't know about model boat builders... but I have hundreds of model aircraft plans and most of my model flyer friends seem to able to help out in most cases

I used to keep plans, but only of models I might build. So any I/C, or fast electric or yacht plan were disposed  of. Now I ten to keep them with the mags. and give those away annually. Of the few plans I have bought, most of these have have been given away to club members.

Maybe because model boats last for years compared to yer average plane... model boat builders don't have so many plans in their W/S libary
