"Rolldock Sun" - who could scratch build this ?

Rolldock are building heavy lift ships which can load/unload cargo by three different methods

Each loading method gives the modeller significant challenges to overcome and fitting all three modes into a single hull would be a herculean task.

Is there anyone in our midst who could successfully build a model of this ship ?

Or better still, is there any Company able to produce a fully functional kit that would allow an average modeller to build one ?

Doesn't look that difficult. Two of the modes only require the ability to alter the bouyancy of the vessel, so something from the submarine world would do that. Possibly even a lash-up with a car water pumps and some ballast tamks built into the vessel. The stern doors have to operate but this has been done before.

The cranes are standard and no worse than any other.

The biggest problem would be finsing a plan for the boat. On the other hand I suspect it won't have too many fiddly bits on the outside. It would make an interesting display item. Probably too much development work to create a working kit though. To get a return the price would be too high for most people.
