its my SUPER DRIFTER CAR from a "cheap rc car"..
« on: August 27, 2011, 06:59:07 pm »

Friends, this is my conversion work on a cheap rc toy car, in to a high performance one by handy things and handy works...i got this rc toy car from the duty paid shop of my friend, and paid nothing as its battery pack dead.the real color was silver, but i repainted it in deep orange, from Asian paints, and hand brushed.nothing extra ordinary or expensive materials are used here...

while considering a toy rc car, the motor and driving circuits come in to play at first. most of the toy cars based on 6 volts or 4.8 volts, and the battery packs also goes in to these segments.so a high performance is not expectable.
so i started reworking with motors at first. i reworked the motor for 7.2 volt specs and works well..

after reworking on armature started working on brushes..most toy motors will be a brushed type with flimsy arm brushes.so we can add a graphite piece to the arms, from a 12 volts scooter starter motor..can also go for good brushes if have with us.

after clearing the motor related problems, the next step is ESC. a toy car RX board and components aren't much good to cope with high current ratings of reworked motor.so i made an esc with MOSFET..its proven in my ship and boat models and can hold a high amp ratings.but it sizes to a match box..
