It'll go fast enough, fear not...it's just emptied the best part of a bath full of water in a split second!

I noticed that the fast electric, multi and offshore racing boys fit their aerials in similar positions...I can't put it anywhere else.

Vertical through the top is my choice (if the aerial is long enough).

I would have thought up near the handlebars, away for the motors, above the water, wake and other electrical gear...
But to tell the truth, I would go try it out on the water... cautiously!

GC 2.4 rx velcroed under the deck with a horizontal aerial works perfectly all the way round the fountain in my Victoria in the pic

I would have thought it would be ok out of the back of the seat.

It will probably be out of sight before it is out of range

Ok..aerial now moved to a more upright position away from the rooster tail. This means practically all of the aerial is now outside the hull, up in the tube. The rx is mounted more or less directly under the aerial tube, where the old 40mHz one was.

I'll take your advice Martin...no more than two clicks of throttle until I'm happy!

Thanks Ned...it wouldn't have to go far to be out of my sight nowadays!

Rich, all of my boats are 2.4ghz, including my Robbe Jet Ski. The aerial is only a couple of inches long anyway, so I've found that as long as the receiver itself is above the waterline, there are no problems.  I don't have any aerial tubes whatsoever, the Rx just sits in the boat as would a normal Rx. I have GC 2.4 set-ups, Esky 2.4 set-ups and Planet 5 2.4 set-ups and have had no problem whatsoever with any of them...
Hope this helps

Hi Nige,

My rx in the Sea Jet is way above the waterline, just underneath the seat at the stern.

Thanks mate...much appreciated.

Not a very good picture, but you can see where the rx is positioned.

Nah - that's an experiment-gone-wrong with propshaft oiler tubes allowing water to magickally pump itself high into the air...  %%
