Hi Phil!

My eldest got a "Wee Nip" for Xmas. He was ten at the time.

We had lots of fun building it together and he's very pleased with it. It came as a pre-cut kit of plywood from Traplet: HERE
They do a similarly easy Pilot Boat: HERE

An alternative.
If you look on the traplet site in the plans section. There is an easybuild section. If you could knock out the parts, he can put them together. That way you will be doing something together.

Just a though

dodgy geezer, one of the members here has started a site for Keil Kraft EeZeBilt Models. Go to the home page & do a search for him or eezbilt to find the sire.

The book 'Small Radio Control Boats' is well worth a look, it contains various full size plans.

Or maybe a Graupner 'ANJA SL-35' if you might prefer a small kit.
